DEVELOP YOUR KNOWLEDGE
This workshop is for beginner beekeepers with some experience – ideally you will have your own bees, may have attended our Beekeeping for Beginners Workshop, or be helping to look after bees with someone else.
Since we launched our Beekeeping for Beginners Workshop we have received many requests from delegates wanting to return to the farm to learn more. Our Beekeeping Next Steps Workshop still focuses on fun and enjoyment but takes a more detailed look at how to care for your bees safely, competently and confidently.
BECOMING A BETTER BEEKEEPER
After welcome refreshments and an opportunity to say hello to your fellow workshop students, it’s time to get stuck into our new off-season workshop, so no matter the weather or time of the year, you’ll still learn everything you need to know:
- DISEASE: we’ll be taking a closer look at the common diseases of the honey bee in much more detail; ensuring you know how to spot, treat and prevent them in your own bees with the various efficacious methods available. Using a combination of exclusive photos, videos and our own experience, we’ll share practical methods of controlling disease and what to do when disease presents.
- BEEKEEPER: beekeeping should be fun, but there is a maze of information available. We’ll honestly share the pros and cons of various methods and equipment, helping you to decipher the most practical, and safe, ways to approach beekeeping.
- PRACTICAL: working with training hives and using video footage for discussion, we’ll demonstrate efficient and practical methods for handling and inspecting your bees to ensure smooth, stress-free beekeeping.
- Q&A: perhaps the most valuable part of the workshop will be a question and answer session in an ‘open clinic’ style: an opportunity for you to share any existing challenges, concerns or knowledge gaps – expect practical, efficacious solutions.
- There will also be plenty of opportunity to ask questions throughout the day.
OUR WORKSHOPS ARE ALL-INCLUSIVE
We’ll provide you with everything you need, including: locally sourced, home grown and organic refreshments, and an organic pizza lunch cooked in our outdoor, wood-fired pizza oven. You’ll leave with plenty of notes and resources, including a digital download of the disease presentation and a 12 month subscription to our exclusive monthly Bee Club.
100% MONEY-BACK GUARANTEE
We like to run our workshops fairly and honestly. Your booking secures a very limited place, so is non-refundable – if you can’t make it, you can send a friend or colleague instead. If at the end of any of our workshops you haven’t enjoyed yourself and don’t believe that it has helped you to achieve what it set out to, we will gladly refund you 100% of the price you paid.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
We are actively trying to help the environment, so all workshop confirmations and supporting information will be emailed to you, including a reminder the week before the workshop with details and directions to the farm.
