Regular price £125.00 Sale

Join us on our award winning, organic farm for an exciting new workshop for 2020 with Alice Vincent from the hugely popular Instagram account "@Noughticulture".

An interactive house plant workshop, talk, book discussion and signing with Alice on Saturday 29th February 2020.

"A champion of urban gardening" The Finery

Coinciding with the launch of her latest book, Rootbound, Alice joins us for this very rare opportunity to spend a day in her company talking house plants and all things nature as she shares success strategies for indoor gardening and beautiful house plant arrangements.

Our hugely popular rural skills workshops begin at 10am and run to approximately 4pm, here on our farm on the Lincolnshire-Cambridgeshire border, just 4 minutes from Market Deeping, and 18 minutes from Peterborough and Stamford train stations.

We'll have welcome refreshments ready for when you arrive and, after a quick opportunity to say hello to your fellow workshop students, it's time for the fun to begin:

  • The house plant basics: why they die and how not to kill them!
  • Choosing the right house plants and taking a look at the different types available; their origin and balancing decor to create stunning indoor themes.
  • Discover house plant needs and how to correctly pot up a variety of houseplants, which you'll take away with you as a souvenir of the day.
  • This workshop includes a copy of Alice's brand new release, Rootbound, personally signed to you by Alice.
  • Tour with Alice our almost entirely pollinator-friendly gardens we have created here on the farm - we'll explain how and why we have planted the way we have with bees and pollinators in mind.

There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and get practical advice on house plants and indoor gardening, throughout the day.

THIS WORKSHOP IS TAUGHT BY ALICE VINCENT

Alice Vincent is a senior writer on the arts desk of The Telegraph, where she has worked since 2013. After starting her first autodidactic lessons in gardening in 2014, Alice started to write a weekly urban gardening column for The Telegraph. Her Instagram account and newsletter Noughticulture has an engaged following and she has written for Gardener's World and Gardens Illustrated, and has collaborated with Amazon, Finery, Monsoon and Seedlip, among others, and now hosts workshops and a YouTube channel for Patch Plants. Her first book, How To Grow Stuff, was published in 2017.

OUR WORKSHOPS ARE ALL-INCLUSIVE

We'll provide you with everything you need, including: locally sourced, home grown and organic refreshments; an organic pizza lunch cooked in our outdoor, wood-fired pizza oven; and planting equipment for the day. You'll leave with plenty of notes, your potted plants and a signed copy of Alice's new book, Rootbound.

All delegates will be required to sign a declaration in order to take part in the day’s activities. Suitable for ages 16+.
