Stunning spires of tubular flowers

Traditional woodland flowers, Foxgloves, are loved by bees and are great for adding vertical interest into any garden.

Spires of stacked, trumpet-shaped flowers opening from the base upwards, above a rosette of leaves, providing colour and nectar for many weeks from June.

Create your own nectar garden

Foxgloves are hardy biannuals but will easily self-seed.  A beautiful addition to any cottage, wildlife or woodland gardens.

  • Aspect: Sun or dappled / partial shade.
  • Soil:  Moist, humus-rich.
  • Flowering period:  June to July.
  • Height:  Up to 1.5 metres.
  • Width: Up to 0.6 metres, but will easily self-seed to provide swathes of colourful spires.
  • Caution: All plant parts are poisonous.

Plant Care

Foxgloves are hardy and need little attention.  If allowed, they will self-seed to provide their own succession.

Foxglove plants are of 9 cm pot size, but to reduce use of plastic we reuse our pots and supply plants wrapped in newspaper.  We mix and use our own compost.
