Design Your Own Edible Organic Garden Workshop

About this experience

A new range of gardening workshops here on our organic farm! Our aim is for you to leave as passionate and relaxed about gardening as we are!

Join Rich Heathcote, one of our head gardeners on Saturday 14th March 2020 for this fun, informative and hand-on workshop learning how to design and create your very own edible garden!

Our hugely popular rural skills workshops begin at 10am and run to approximately 4pm, here on our farm on the Lincolnshire-Cambridgeshire border, just 4 minutes from Market Deeping, and 18 minutes from Peterborough and Stamford train stations.

We'll have welcome refreshments ready for when you arrive and, after a quick opportunity to say hello to your fellow workshop students, it's time for the fun to begin:

  • Explore using organic gardening methods to plant a visually appealing and tasty garden, raised bed, or border.

  • Discover simple to grow, edible and tasty plants, leaves and flowers to use in cooking, as dressings, plate toppers and for drinks including tea infusions in this fun, interactive workshop.

  • Enjoy an informative tour with Rich of our almost entirely pollinator-friendly gardens we have created here on the farm - we'll explain how and why we have planted the way we have with bees and pollinators in mind and how to obtain year-round colour and interest for your own outside space.

There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and get practical advice on edible plants and gardening, throughout the day.

Rich Heathcote is one of our head gardeners here at the farm. RHS qualified, he has experience in a wide variety of gardens, from substantial herbaceous borders, to woodland and gravel gardens, wild-flower gardens and his own personal favourite: kitchen gardens. Rich has a really flexible approach to gardening.

We'll provide you with everything you need, including: locally sourced, home grown and organic refreshments; an organic pizza lunch cooked in our outdoor, wood-fired pizza oven; and gardening equipment for the day. You'll leave with plenty of notes, planting plans and a renewed sense of confidence and excitement about your own outside space!

All delegates will be required to sign a declaration in order to take part in the day’s activities. Suitable for ages 16+.

We like to run our workshops fairly and honestly. Your booking secures a very limited place, so is non-refundable - if you can’t make it, you can send a friend or colleague instead. If at the end of any of our workshops you haven't enjoyed yourself and don’t believe that it has helped you to achieve what it set out to, we will gladly refund you 100% of the price you paid.

We are actively trying to help the environment, so all workshop confirmations and supporting information will be emailed to you, including a reminder the week before the workshop with details and directions to the farm.

If you're able to car share, use public transport (we're just 18 minutes from Peterborough and Stamford train stations), cycle or have an electric car, please do!

LIMITED PLACES AVAILABLE: Places are strictly limited and sell out every year so please do book early to avoid disappointment.
