Design a Bee-Friendly Garden Border Workshop: Saturday 4th April 2020
A new range of gardening workshops here on our organic farm for garden lovers new and experienced alike! Our aim is for you to leave as passionate and relaxed about gardening as we are!
Join Rich Heathcote, one of our head gardeners on Saturday 4th April 2020 for this relaxed, informative and hand-on workshop to learn how to help save our bees!
Our hugely popular rural skills workshops begin at 10am and run to approximately 4pm, here on our farm on the Lincolnshire-Cambridgeshire border, just 4 minutes from Market Deeping, and 18 minutes from Peterborough and Stamford train stations.
We'll have welcome refreshments ready for when you arrive and, after a quick opportunity to say hello to your fellow workshop students, it's time for the fun to begin:
Discover the favourite plants and flowers of our native pollinators, and why different plants are important for their survival - see outside spaces through the eyes of bees, overflies, moths, butterflies and all pollinators.
Learn the professional gardening secrets for designing pollinator friendly patio pots, borders and even visually interesting lawn areas.
Learn the important of planting for critical seasonal periods, such as early in the year, mid summer and last autumn, and how providing forage for pollinators also guarantees colour, interest, flow and architecture for your own outside space.
Enjoy an informative tour with Rich of our almost entirely pollinator-friendly gardens we have created here on the farm - we'll explain how and why we have planted the way we have with bees and pollinators in mind and how to obtain year-round colour and interest for your own outside space.
There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and get practical advice on gardening, throughout the day.
