The History of Your Velvet Set Honey

Thank you for scanning our label and supporting 100% British honey!

Our unique identifier technology is a world-first for British honey allowing you to see the apiary your honey came from and the results of our microscope testing and visual hive inspections to discover exactly what pollen the bees foraged on to make your delicious jar of honey.

2019 Apiary Overview

Location: Bees & Co. Farm, Lincolnshire/Cambridgeshire border

Approximately 5 metres above sea level, the small apiary here at our farm is surrounded in the Spring by acres of oil seed rape crop. This provides a stunning bright yellow, cheerful backdrop for the bees of the 10 hives to forage on.

The exact number of hives frequently changes throughout the year; sometimes we will have 10 hives and often more nucleus (small) colonies.

There are open water sources, wild foraging such as dandelion, ragwort and ivy as well as a rich array of propagated early flowering sources that we have planted including cherry and apple blossom, crocus, snowdrops and aconites.

The result is a richly flavoured, set honey, which we stir for 15 minutes every 4 hours for 12 hours. The result is the velvet soft honey.
